The Joint Commission

Sports Medicine

The Arkansas Methodist Medical Center Sports Medicine Program is a multi-disciplinary program consisting of athletic trainers, physical therapists, nurses and physicians.  Our facility provides specialized healthcare to area athletes to help prevent, treat and recover from injuries related to sports activities. The program acts as a liaison between medical professionals, coaches and parents to provide better communication regarding injuries.

The Sports Medicine Program provides full-time and part-time, on-campus licensed athletic trainers to the Paragould and Greene County Tech School Districts as well as part-time trainers at Crowley's Ridge College. Some of the other services include ongoing education instruction to athletes, coaches and educators including CPR instruction.

Greene County Tech High School and Paragould High School have both been designated as Safe Sports Schools by the National Athletic Trainers' Association. GCT is a 1st Team school and PHS is a 2nd Team School. The award champions safety and recognizes secondary schools that provide safe environments for student athletes. The award reinforces the importance of providing the best level of care, injury prevention and treatment.
