Memory loss does not discriminate by age. While memory loss is usually associated with aging, memory loss can affect people as young as 30. And the younger the patient, the more devastating the effects. Insurance problems, work difficulties and social stigmas are only a few of the life-changing situations that clients face.
Memory loss does not discriminate by age. While memory loss is usually associated with aging, memory loss can affect people as young as 30. And the younger the patient, the more devastating the effects. Insurance problems, work difficulties, social stigmas and parenting issues are only a few of the life-changing situations that clients face. At The Memory Institute we treat the medical, emotional and social aspects of memory loss.
As a smaller facility, patient health isn’t compromised by long waits to see a physician or getting lost in a sea of hospital corridors. We provide an intimate setting where we address the immediate needs of our patients. Our multi-specialty team spends a day conducting a comprehensive evaluation and executive physical. We understand that a full day away from job, family or daily responsibilities can be inconvenient, so we ensure that all doctor visits and testing is coordinated. For our clients who are unable to spend an entire day at the facility, appointments can be split into two visits.
Once the evaluation is completed, the Clinic’s medical director sits down with the client and their family and/or caregiver, if the client wishes, to answer questions, discuss test results and talk about treatment options.
Memory loss can be brought on by many medical conditions that may include:
- Depression and Anxiety
- Sleep Disorders
- Multiple Medications
- Vascular Disease
- Alzheimer’s Disease
That’s why we believe it is important to look at the client as a whole medically and emotionally. In other words, it is equally important to address the underlying and overlapping medical conditions as well as the memory loss. Out multi-disciplinary approach helps to ensure that clients receive comprehensive care.
